Description

This “Origin Turtle” is a modern reinterpretation of the famous 6105-8000 released in 1968. It is designed to meet the needs of the diver for whom a reliable, accurate, readable and durable watch is essential.Seiko and divingThe Japanese manufacturer Seiko is known to watch enthusiasts as one of the most reliable and legitimate brands in the world of diving watches. Since the launch of its first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko has been dedicated to exceeding divers’ expectations with its innovative technology, creating timepieces that will help you face deep water obstacles in a wide variety of situations around the world. These timepieces have proven to be up to the rigors of the environment and have received praise from professional divers.Reinterpretation of an icon: 6105-8000This reference SPB315J1 uses as a basis an emblematic model of the Japanese brand, the “Turtle”. Easily recognizable thanks to its protected crown at four o’clock, it is one of the brand’s most iconic watches! It is a true diver’s watch, designed to meet the needs of the diver for whom a reliable, accurate, legible and durable watch is essential. On this reference SPB315J1, we find a fully brushed cushion case of 41 mm in diameter for 12.3 mm thick. It is interesting to note that this latter thickness makes this new model the thinnest Prospex dive watch to date. The design is very similar to the 1968 original, but since the lugs are a little over a millimeter shorter, they are also a little sharper. So, with all these changes, this watch sits perfectly on the wrist. The crown screwed in at 4 o’clock is very well protected by the case and protrudes very little. At the time, Seiko called this an “Anti-Snag” crown. The black dial has rectangular gilt indexes filled with Lumibrite and the faceted hour and minute hands have been polished and brushed, which helps visibility. What makes this watch different from other Prospex Diver’s is that the date is set at four and a half hours, allowing for the ISO 6425 standards to be updated. Like all Prospex watches, this watch is water resistant to 200 meters and is presented on a brand new 5-mesh steel bracelet, very vintage style. The case has an ultra-hard coating and the sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface to ensure great readability from all angles.Technical sideThis Prospex Diver’s 200 is equipped with the manufacture caliber 6R35 with automatic winding. This is one of the Japanese firm’s essential movements, which is used in most of the brand’s watches. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a comfortable 72-hour power reserve, allowing you to alternate with your other watches without having to systematically wind it. Designed to be reliable and robust, its construction is as simple as possible. In terms of complications, the day and date are shown in a window at four o’clock, which is very practical in everyday life! In terms of accuracy, the tolerance indicated by the company is -15 to + 25 seconds per day.In brefA modern reinterpretation of a legendary dive watchA super comfortable vintage style strapThe thinnest diver’s watch at Seiko
