Description
Precision, robustness, elegance: the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M combines all the qualities of an iconic diver’s watch. Its Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement makes it a true masterpiece of watchmaking.A legend since 1993! 1993 is undoubtedly one of Omega’s most important dates: the launch of the very first Seamaster Diver 300M on the market! The launch marked Omega’s triumphant return to diving watches, and proved that the brand’s ingenuity was more alive than ever. Positioned at the time as a refined, luxurious diver’s watch, it broke with the design language of the Seamaster 300 and 600 of previous decades, showing a revolution of sorts. Indeed, the changes and developments of the 1990s inspired new designs and propelled the brand into the spotlight. The chronograph version was even named Watch of the Year in 1994! The launch of the Seamaster Diver 300M also coincided with the brand’s new marketing strategy in the 1990s, aimed at breaking records and becoming a true icon, bringing Omega into the modern era with a vision full of fervor. As soon as it was launched, it accompanied Frenchman Roland Specker to a depth of 80 meters, setting the world record for freshwater free diving. In 1995, it marked a close relationship with the world of sailing when Sir Peter Blake, along with several sailors from the New Zealand team, wore the diver during their unforgettable victory in the America’s Cup. But it was the film GoldenEye that really propelled this watch to iconic status! For the first time, James Bond wore a Diver 300M on his wrist!A classic, timeless model With a stainless steel case, the 42 mm Seamaster Diver 300M is topped by a black ceramic bezel featuring a white enamel diving scale. The dial, also in polished black ceramic, is decorated with laser-engraved waves and features a date window at 6 o’clock. An iconic code for the model since its launch! The skeletonized hands and rhodium-plated raised hour-markers are coated with white Super-LumiNova. You can put its robustness to the test with its steel bracelet, whose folding clasp features a diving extension. We therefore give this evolution of the Seamaster Diver 300M a 20/20 rating. As well as being stylish, it takes us into the Omega universe with all the features needed by any diver: great legibility on land and at sea, a screw-down caseback and crown, a helium valve at 10 o’clock, a steel bracelet and water resistance to 300 m.A Co-Axial caliber certified Master ChronometerThis Diver 300M is powered by an Omega 8800 manufacture self-winding movement, visible through its sapphire caseback. Equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, it delivers excellent performance while offering a well-balanced watch for everyday use. Indeed, the movement and watch have been tested in accordance with the METAS-approved Master Chronometer certification procedure, guaranteeing the watch’s accuracy between 0 and +5 seconds per day. The caliber is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss, so you don’t have to worry about the electronic equipment that surrounds us every day. The racketless balance wheel with silicon balance spring beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations, a standard frequency providing 55 hours of power reserve.
