Revealing the intimacy of its automatic movement, this model illustrates both horological and aesthetic mastery. Testifying to HERBELIN’s traditional French watchmaking expertise, this new timepiece, with its signature 70’s design, is produced in a limited edition of 500 numbered pieces worldwide.French touch neo-vintageInterpreted in square format, the Cap Camarat Square Squelette is inspired by a 70s model from the watchmaking heritage of the French house HERBELIN. The stainless steel case (39 mm x 39 mm) features rounded corners, enhanced by vertical brushing and polished facets. Punctuated by six decorative screws, the bezel underscores its geometric robustness, drawing the eye to the complexity of the dial, adorned with a sapphire crystal. To maximize its visibility, this one hosts, in filigree, the HERBELIN logo, whose cobalt blue hue supports the watch’s tonicity.Nothing to hideExposed, the caliber has been subtly chiseled, offering a striking view of its mechanism. Devoid of all superfluous matter, it majestically showcases the art of transparency, revealing the backstory in minute detail. Sober and modern through a rhodium-plated treatment of components and gears, this skeletonization metamorphoses the movement’s sophisticated orchestration into an intertwining of sharp, compact and nervous lines. While accentuating the watch’s racy character, this mechanical ballet is highlighted by a horizontal stamped bezel. Cobalt blue, it reveals indexes positioned as if suspended above the movement. Typical of the Seventies with their bevelled shape, they are covered in luminescent material, as are the faceted rectangular hour and minute hands. A sand-blasted cobalt-blue flange displays a numbered minute marker, from five to five. Animated by a central second hand, the Cap Camarat Square Squelette provides perfect legibility of time information, even in a dark environment.Highlighting a French watchmaking tradition handed down from father to son since 1947, this timepiece is mounted on a cobalt-blue high-performance FKM elastomer strap. Guaranteed for ten years thanks to its extremely resistant material, it has been specifically designed to fit the watch’s case middle. Raised in the center and cut out on the sides, its shape echoes that of the existing metal bracelet. Integrated into the case to respect the watchmaking codes of the time, it is very pleasant to wear thanks to its great suppleness while reinforcing the charisma of the piece, water-resistant to 100 meters.Under the hoodCultivating its difference through an architectural vision of skeletonization, the Cap Camarat Squelette embarks a Swiss-made automatic caliber: the Sellita 200-1Sc. Also visible through a transparent caseback, it features an openworked oscillating weight winding a 41-hour power reserve.Made in France for having been designed, conceived, assembled, adjusted and controlled in HERBELIN’s workshops located in the Jura mountains of Franche-Comté, this limited series structures time with elegance. Engraved with the number X/500 on the case back, it embodies the company’s watchmaking heritage in a contemporary spirit.
